did anyone see the BBC show , the beatles secrete lives ?

I think that was the title , I am bad with titles these days . It was sort of a tab type of show bringing up the dirt .

I haven't watched anything on the beatles for years so for that part it was ok .

It does seem like a million years ago to me , like it was another planet , well it was compared to today .

I know many people feel and for good reason that those days had their bad moments but I have to tell ya , I would rather be back there then in this madness .

The only thing it seems to look forward today is more horror and death .

As someone who was not alive at the time, the show was quite informative if lacking in terms of context most of the time.

As a bit of an amateur student of history I tend to view the sixties as a time of hope, but ultimately a time of great tragedy that sowed the seeds that made today's "conservative" ascendancy possible.

There were quite a few things I hadn't heard about them, especially John's escapades, and Brian Epstein's love letter to Paul McCartney ! Whoa.

I haven't watched it in years . I get too depressed looking at the past and then looking out the window at this new global world . Now that Lennon and Harrison are gone it just makes it worse .

I remember seeing them on the Ed S show for three weeks ends in a row and then getting my first guitar all ready to form a group and become famous .

I had alot of fun back then being in groups and playing small clubs for free , you know the clubs from 16 to 19 year olds then you were out .

It all seems so very long ago but I am glad I was there when it all began . Never did become famous .

I don't think there will ever be an event such as the Beatles ever again .

Odd how on this show today that they brought up that Kennedy was just shot and the Beatles brought back something in life . I remember feeling that way back then , a thousand years ago .

kids get through the post-assassination years. And then came the war in force, and more assassinations, and Kent State, Manson, Altamont.

started to erode after that. when George died, more of me did too! All those years ago, just like yesterday! I was a kid when they invaded, so I think my parents must have been under their spell too since they let us watch Ed Sullivan, et al.

Good memories that bring back lots of smiles.
