Montana Republicans have an "interesting" candidate for U.S. Senate.

Bob Kelleher

Of six possible choices in Tuesday's Primary they chose Butte Attorney Bob Kelleher. He received 26,789 votes. His closest competitor, Michael Lange got 16,986 votes.

Bob's #1 issue is poverty.

Bob favors "socialized medicine".

Bob would like to see the U.S. adopt a European Parliamentary style government.

Six years ago Bob was the Green Party candidate for U.S. Senate.

............................oops!

I'm guessing that voters confused him with Bob Keenan, a moderate Libertarian from Bigfork. Two years ago Keenan challenged Conrad Burns in a friendly Republican Primary contest. He wasn't on the ballot this time.

5. It also doesn't hurt that
He lives in a place where 26,789 votes will get you a SENATE nod.

Good for Bob, may he become the new leader of the Republican Party!!

10. The leaders of the Republican Party aren't too excited about this.
I don't expect they'll be helping with the campaign. :-)

while traveling in my car yesterday. Who could imagine they would pick someone with those stands? Anyway, I heard he has run under different parties (many times) and believe party name doesn't mean anything nor has he felt bound by party or platform.

13. This is his 16th run for office since 1964.
He's lost every time but one. In the 70's he was elected as a delegate to re-write the state constitution.
