Will McCain Continue To Receive A Free Ride In The Press
I know that we are having a lot of fun at McCain's expense, but all his speech does is make him look foolish. What I wonder is whether the press will highlight how his "straight talk" is full of "bs".

Myth: McCain is a strong critic of the Bush Administration.

Fact: McCain has been a cheerleader of Bush foreign policy repeating Bush talking points about being greeted as liberators and how the war will be short.

Myth: McCain is fiscally responsible.
Fact: McCain was against, then for the Bush tax cuts. No plan as to how he would balance the budget.

Myth: McCain has unimpeachable integrity as a public servant.
Fact: McCain is the sole remaining member of the Keating 5 in connection with S&L debacle. How timely, I guess McCain has the experience of how to create a mortgage crisis.

Myth: McCain cares about senior citizens, because he is one.
Fact: McCain supported Bush's attempt to privitize social security.

You know, I could go on, but the fact of the matter is that while Fox News will simply repeat Rezko, Ayers and Wright over and over again, the way they would repeat Marc Rich and white water over and over again if Hillary were nominee, McCain is mostly getting a free pass on the substantive issues.
