McCain Calls Bush A Chickenhawk

McSame is running a new ad in battleground states today -- his first of the general election -- that has this pointed smackdown of the Commander Guy:

"Only a fool or a fraud talks tough or romantically about war," McCain says in the ad.

Since we've heard nothing but "bring 'em on," "smoke 'em out," "dead or alive" from The Decider pretty much non-stop since 2001, we all know who the fool is.

Sounds like he's responding directly to this little gem of a quote by Bush:

“I must say, I’m a little envious,” Bush said. “If I were slightly younger and not employed here, I think it would be a fantastic experience to be on the front lines of helping this young democracy succeed.”

“It must be exciting for you … in some ways romantic, in some ways, you know, confronting danger. You’re really making history, and thanks,” Bush said.
