Charles Krauthammer: McCain at his best isn't as good as Obama at his worst
Edited on Fri Jun-06-08 08:07 PM by jtrockville
When talking about the "town hall" meetings with Obama, that McCain suggested, Charles Krauthammer (on "Inside Washington") said it was a terrible idea, and noted that "town halls" are McCain's strength, but added this caveat:

"McCain at his best isn't as good as Obama at his worst."

It's inevitable for McCain and Obama to meet on a stage during the run-up to November. Reminds me of some lyrics from Yung Joc...

"Oh I think they like me. Better yet I know.
Lights, camera, action when I walk through the door.
...
Anywhere you meet me guaranteed to go down."

2. I'm going to ignore Mr. Krauthammer....
...I happen to think the Right Wing shills are trying psyche us out with honeyed words. Let's stay on the defensive!

4. Watch what Krauthammer says; he could be using reverse psychology.
Because this venue would be better for gramps than having to speak to a group on his own, which he's terrible at.

6. Maybe, but the two do have to meet.
Town halls (IMO) are more likely to have questions of actual substance (instead of, say, jewelry... or one's personal spirituality). I think Obama's gonna smoke him, no matter what the forum.

7. There will be debates, and you can be sure they'll be throwing
accusations at each other. I'm just not sure town halls are necessary for Obama. He'd do better on his own.
