If South Carolina gets to offer this license plate...

Then I want one of these two images on license plates...

Or something which signifies that I am an atheist. I should be able to express myself as much as anyone else.

South Carolina drivers will be the first in the nation to be offered license plates that carry the phrase “I Believe” and a Christian cross over a stained-glass window under a law that took effect on Thursday.

Design for a proposed license plate that Florida rejected in April. The new South Carolina law is for a similar plate. Critics have threatened to fight the law in court, saying the license plate represents an illegal state endorsement of religion.

6. We learned about a period of history that went from "I believe" to "I think"
Edited on Sat Jun-07-08 09:25 PM by LiberalFighter
A plate with the logo "I think" would be good.

3. Why would you want your car vandalized?
The only effect putting a "darwin fish" on my truck had was getting it keyed multiple times in a few short months.

I'm only one state over from South Carolina and I doubt it would be any different there.

8. I foresee a lot of tickets from a lot of SC's Christian cops.
Just another way of letting you know that their version of Jesus commends their harassment of folks like you.

10. Actually, if you can get the backing in a State legislature, you can get any kind of
license plate you want. A long time ago when I lived in Pgh. Pa. I was the Secretary of a streetrod car club. State inspection laws were getting really weird and we were afraid they would be passing some that would severely restrict what we could do with our streetrods. (Like bumper height, stock tail lights, blue dots, etc.) We contacted our State rep. and asked him to sponsor a "Streetrod license plate" that would have similar protections that the antique plates had. I think it cost us $125, and a little schmoozing.
