It's a sad day when $3.99 gal looks cheap.
We were driving back from the grocery store yesterday and saw a sign on one of the stations for $3.99/gal regular unleaded. Both DH and I looked at each other like WOW, what a deal. How completely sad is that?

It's been as high as $4.30 here, but is typically around $4.14 in the past week.

2. Yeah, I was happy to find gas for $3.95 last night
Actually, I was surprised. I usually fill up in St. Louis when I go over there, as gas is generally cheaper than in Illinois, but yesterday prices in St. Louis were 3.99, and the station in Illinois that tends to run cheapest in our area was 3.95. So...I waited until I was on the way back to fill up.

First time that's happened.

3. I did the same thing yesterday. Every other station was at 4.19 and I was excited to find one that
was at 4.01. I actually filled the tank since, I've been playing the half-tank at a time game with these outrageous prices.

4. It's the equivalent of $9.20 for diesel in Germany
though, granted, Europeans drive less distance and have better public transit to rely on. I hope you live near work.
