HUGH VOTER TURNOUT EXPECTED -County BOE Solicits Poll Workers
My county is preparing for an historic voter turnout in November. I received a solicitation to serve as a poll worker yesterday in the mail, filled it out promptly and returned it immediately. The hours are from 5:30 AM to 9:30 PM (or however long it takes!) and the pay is $225. The pay isn't the motivation, of course, but making sure all votes are counted is. I've always found that volunteering to help others is the most self-esteem building, satisfying gift one can give oneself. I'm all fired up and ready to go! Dems will win in November! :dem:

2. Excellent!!....
Now shouldn't we start to concentrate these type of efforts in the counties that have perrenial "problems" like in Ohio and Florida?

3. Great idea!
I live in a deep Blue state, so I'm not surprised that NY is gearing up in advance for a deluge of voters (I sincerely hope!), but perhaps members in the problem states you mention should contact their local BOE and make sure that the polling places are adequately covered. Whether they are or not may depend on the SOS, but if the Dems get out in front of the problem, hopefully we won't be reading stories of woefully undermanned voting stations.

4. Hugh Turnout? Hugh Hefner? Hugh Beaumont?
It doesn't matter how many Hugh's show up at Florida polling places, there won't be enough voting machines that work to get all their votes, and a number of them are easily-hackable electronic voting machines.

5. Florida is especially challenged...
B***es have been destroying Floridian's voting rights for years. Doesn't mean we shouldn't fight back, does it?
