That IS under 2 per day... we were over 3!

Of course, paying the sunnis to stay home AND having some sort of cease fire with the Sadrists might have something to do with this "progress".

OTOH, al Sistani (the real shia cleric leader) just offered up an opinion that was hostile to the US ( he had been more neutral ).

And, when the summer first arrives in Iraq, there has been a traditional pause in the fighting.

3. I'm sure it's smokin' hot there now. I just think McCain claiming the

surge is working is a big fat lie. I think these numbers prove it, but I fear something soon will further reinforce my opinion. Yay for me, but who has to die to do that? :(

7. Exactly, the reduction in casualities is because of the BRIBES

not the surge. We need to keep shouting this LOUD AND CLEAR. The surge did nothing.
