There's a whole lotta healin' still left for us to get to, mind you. We all grok that.

But if the messages from the blogosphere, and the major-stream media, and the emails, and the word-of-mouth buzz on the street are any indication...

...then in his own tiny way, yr hmbl otr crspndnt feels awfully good about the way we are all of us collectively moving on and looking towards a future when neither the color nor the shape of a person's skin has the least little damn thing to do with whether he and/or she gets to be the next President of these United States.

We're not gonna get there overnight, mind you.

But we're all closer to that now than we have ever been.
