That poor wife and all the frustrated wounded and families members have to stay angry and strong until they finally break down into tears, they are so worn out from this fight.

And the company it was outsourced to is run by a former Halliburton exec. Funny about that.

Edited on Mon Mar-05-07 03:23 PM by KCabotDullesMarxIII
the health and well-being of her champion, after the fight? Does she worry about them, before the fight? Pass.... She sure as hell is not going to prevent him being put in harm's way.

I doubt if there are many working-class people doltish enough to still believe in these characters; they'd be mostly hummer drivers, etc.

50. SSgt = E-6
He's an NCO. E-5 is the first NCO rank (just plain "sergeant"), while E-6 is a step up from there. He *is* a noncom leader.

90. E-1 through E-4 = worker bees
Those are the private through specialist ranks.

Short form - noncoms are the "middle managers" of the military. They're not commissioned by act of Congress (hence the phrase "commissioned officer" which is usually just shortened to "officer"), but they do have leadership roles. Any noncom is, technically, outranked automatically by any officer, even an ink-still-wet lieutenant. However, the hierarchy of the military being what it is, any noncom outranks any lesser enlisted rank.

A noncom is not, by definition, an "officer and a gentleman", but they're probably more likely to get something done. :)

Even while he, himself, was recovering, he was trying to do his duty as an NCO and help other soldiers who needed it.

Hearing them testify is truly heartbreaking.

79. These reps need to be begging for forgiveness
I also love how in lieu of solid intel or reliable government reports, these reps are taking their cues from the WashPo article.

117. Stay in the Job Long Enough
To let your mistakes catch up with you. Then you stay longer to fix things. That was Admiral Rickover's policy and it worked well. No easy way out, no leaving early, you screw it up, you fix it. You can leave when the job is done and you will report your progress daily toward the solution you have stated you will accomplish.

Proper supervision! They can be made to perform and perform well. Three times then fired. Public and disgraceful..

Stripped of rank publicly, every sign of rank torn off the uniform down to the buttons.

102. I was moved by his statement
Edited on Mon Mar-05-07 11:29 AM by Sydnie
about not being able to resign from the service when bullets are flying and people are dying.

That took it right to the heart of the matter ... it is a cover up!

edit - change word to resign
