Cyclist using Viagra to enhance performance. Not kidding.
It appears the drug helps high altitude performance.

http://www.miamiherald.com/457/story/560121.html

Untold numbers of men -- and their partners -- can attest to Viagra as a performance enhancer in the bedroom.

Can it also perk up performance in a bicycling race?

Scientists at the University of Miami are studying whether sildenafil citrate can improve the speed of cyclists riding at altitude. The World Anti-Doping Agency is funding the two-year project to determine if Viagra should be added to the list of banned drugs in sports, joining steroids, human growth hormone and EPO.

7. Makes sense. It was developed to control high blood pressure,
IIRC it opens up the capillaries and improves blood flow. The "performance enhancing" side effect was a lucky accident for the manufacturers.

I imagine it would help cyclists with blood flow as well.

:-)

than those wool shorts we used to wear. The chamois would dry hard as a board when washed. I would have to rub them down with titanium oxide to soften them, then knead them to soften them more so they would not be a pain on the next ride.
