It's Going To Be Hard To Replace Russert
I've seen a few names mentioned as to who might be a good candidate to replace Tim. Personally I would love to see Rachael Maddow or KO or HELL Mike Malloy for that matter (i love that guy. Talk about a tough interview. I know I know that would never fly) The problem in replacing Tim with some one either too left or too right is then credibility truly suffers.

I didn't always agree with how Tim handled an interviewee, like with the idiot son, and I often thought he wasn't 'tough' enough or probing enough with some of his questions.

But the fact remains overall Tim was actually a pretty fair guy and he'll be damn hard to replace.

1. I think they need to go with a cultured, dignified, British gentleman as a new host

Meet the Press, with John Lydon!

3. David Gregory moves into Russert's chair.
Bush almost likes Gregory, and that gives him a chance of being accepted by the right.

7. I have liked Chuck Todd since his C-SPAN days.
I don't think I have ever seen him conduct an interview, though. Can he interview?

8. I think he can, maybe paired with Brokaw until the end of the
election in November and then pass the reigns to him.

6. he wasn't the first host and he won't be the last. The best of MTP is when they show
the old clips from the very early years of that show. For those of you that watch it every sunday i'm sure the transition is going to be weird, sad and maybe a little uncomfortable but eventually they'll settle on a new host and he or she will fit or they won't.

13. That is the part i love the best
I may or may not have sympathy for his immediate family but the rest of the establishment has lost a cog in the wheel. Untimely and unannounced without a hint the measured and smooth Russert is gone in poof in this most treacherous time for the empire, whoa is to them, whoa is to the empire :hi:

14. People who will shill for the military-industrial-complex for millions are a dime a dozen...
There are hundreds of Russerts waiting in the wings to take his place.

And they're probably all working on their manuscripts, hoping to hit the jackpot with the next self-indulgent "Big Russ"-type schmaltzfest book.

Bill Moyers would be a good replacement, but I expect it will be someone much more pro-establishment.
