Hugh Hefner, 82
Hugh Hefner, "unabashed hedonist" and founder of the Playboy Empire, is still alive. Say what you like about him, nobody's going to yell at you.

Edited on Sun Jun-15-08 12:00 AM by Drunken Irishman
He's given close to $200,000 to Democrats over the years.

Oh and I'm jealous of Hefner and you know the sex is why he still looks like he's in his late 50s.

31. First..
He looks like he's 90, not 50.

Second, there's no way he's having sex with any of those women. They feed him prunes and have him tucked in by 7:00.

Edited on Sun Jun-15-08 12:06 AM by LakeSamish706
The guy has had the time of his life, made a fortune and Probably lived his dream.... He has my attention on an upper scale.

Edited to say:

I have no idea what a life in the shoes of a Hugh Hefner might be, but I think that I could live with it.

13. Same here. And over the years, the writers and artists and
Musicians that he has supported are too many to name. Since several of his staff were roughed up during the chicago Democratic convention demonstrations, he early on opposed the Vietnam war. And heremained cynical of our government ever since.

He also has been known for a whimsical sense of how to run a househoold. For a while, back when the Mansion was in Chi-town, a young woman pianist lived there - she had been given her own room and stayed under the radar, just surfacing to come into the living area and play the Grand Piano occasionally.

8. But, but, but he's OOOOOOOLLLLD! Is it okay to say bad things about the elderly?
please call in the holier-than-thou crowd to make sure it's permissible.

We can't risk damaging the reputation of DU or our selves (man, how many times have we heard *that* one in the past 32 hours?)

27. I'm not sure if I really understand your point, but
I'm just gonna go with this because I think it's important (maybe you do too - again, I might be misinterpreting). As to the question "Is it okay to say bad things about the elderly?," the answer is no, it is not okay. It's like asking whether it's okay to say bad things about people generally. You don't have to be a Christian to follow the Golden Rule. It's just common decency. Old or young, all people have feelings, though there is some clinical evidence to suggest that sociopaths (Bush, for example) really don't care much one way or the other. The rest of us though like to be treated with at least a modicum of decency, courtesy and respect. It's the civilized way.

Edited on Sun Jun-15-08 12:06 AM by tularetom
Sportscaster Jim McKay, the original oice of Wide World of Sports on ABC passed away on June 7.

Also someone named Tim Russert who was apparently a televison personality, has died as well.

18. If I had lived like Hugh has
I'd be smilin' too. As it is, I got propositioned by a cute, friendly hooker early this evening, and though I declined (a rather mean looking guy, I'm assuming a pimp, was a little too close by for comfort), I have to say it did bolster my ego. Guess it just goes to show how much difference there is between Hugh's life and my own rather marginal existence. Good for you, Big Hef. I can only dream about your kind of life, but at least it's a vicarious thrill which is better than no thrill at all. That's something anyway.

my uncles from the 70's/80's. and 90's. but then it was all shave pubes or verticle mustaches. and boob jobs. women wanting to be moovee stars. saw pam anderson when she was normal. much nicer before the boob job. and found one of my art school's nude model. at 39 was mr. nude universe. drew him in his 50's, 60's right before he died. dick bacon. was one of the finer bodies we had for nudes.
i enjoyed many of the interviews too. went to crap when he left the mag.
