What do you think of Nancy Grace?
For those who lived under a bridge without a TV, meet http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nancy_Grace">Nancy Grace. She also wrote the book http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1401301800/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top">Objection!: How High-Priced Defense Attorneys, Celebrity Defendants, and a 24/7 Media Have Hijacked Our Criminal.

IMO, what is more dangerous than her Roman Colosseum style is her attack on the Constitution in Objection!.

If she got her way, there would be far more innocents convicted than the http://www.innocentproject.org/Content/530.php">Innocence Project found so far.

If Nancy Grace played a dominant role in the drafting of the Constitution, what would we have?

Nor do I believe that phony, condescending voice she uses to pretend her empathy is genuine. It's a practiced voice, you know the one, softer, lower, slower speech, but she snaps out of it on que, which makes her concern for victims suspect. And yet she wants the law to accept that phony emotion. True, with some of the cases it is impossible not to have some of the same empathy and rage, but I still don't think she is totally genuine most of the time. Maybe she's getting even for getting slapped down not once, not twice, but three times by appellate courts.

Is she dangerous to what we value under the Constitution? Does she hate us for our freedoms?

12. How much weight would it take?
Just wondering. How many voters would she have to sway before she becomes dangerous in your view?

Did you see her interview on Glen Beck?

4. Hate her.
And regarding her reason for being what she is today - the death of her fiance in a robbery (details have been questioned, but I digress) - there had to be a better way to honor the death of someone she loved than turning into such a mean, spiteful and dangerous commentator.

20. Good point. .The wikipedia article reveals her deceptions.
Maybe that was the first warning she wasn't dealing with it in the most healthy way. It must be devastating to have a loved one murdered and so emotion is understandable, but to deceive and mislead about it, and still mislead about other cases, there is something wrong there.

34. Do you remember the young woman who was shot during a mugging in NYC a year or so back?
She was in her late 20s or early 30s and her boyfriend appeared on one of the morning shows. When the host tried to prompt him into saying the killer should receive the death penalty, he graciously said his girlfriend would not want that and it would be a dishonor to her memory to advocate for that outcome. This was a 20something year old guy whose girlfriend was shot and killed in front of him. But he doesn't get a tv show for being a decent human being, so we've got Nancy Grace to tell us how outraged we should be.

40. Except you can't "prove" anything to Nancy.
Even after someone she pronounces guilty is "proven" to be quite innocent, she never apologizes. She never recants. She has moved on to the next scandal-du-jour.

Being Nancy Grace means never having to say you're sorry.

10. Nancy "guilty until proven innocent and even then I don't believe it" Grace?
Edited on Mon Jun-16-08 12:40 PM by Kerrytravelers
I think her last name is unbefitting.

I also think people like her are dangerous to our criminal justice system. She is hell-bent on proving that everyone arrested is automatically guilty. I can't believe that she gets a national platform from which to bellow from a megaphone how guilty everyone is.

Thank goodness for The Innocence Project, one of the most important organizations for justice, in my opinion.

Along with her hair style, contrived "southern charm" and cadre of hip law chics who try to emulate the hairdo.

Thank the gods her trials and convictions don't mean anything.

31. I like someone who fights for victims. Though I'll admit I've only seen her when she used to be on
Larry King. I haven't seen her show on headline news.

I think of the old adage "you dislike the authorities until you yourself are the victim of a crime and then you want them to be your daddy"

I think people who have been through trauma like Nancy Grace.

43. She fights for victims? I thought she just created more victims.
The example that comes to mind is that woman who killed herself after doing Nancy Grace's Show. After enduring an hour of Nancy screaming at her and accusing her of killing her own child. If Nancy Grace were to look at this sitation objectively and - not as an active partcipant - I bet she would crucify the talk show host that drove the mother to suicide.

i'm amazed that some dude somewhere actually wanted to mate with her, because the 100th time you got to hear that voice screaming for you to take out the trash or mow the lawn, is a murder-suicide waiting to happen
