3. ...this subpoena will be ignored as a "request" not an order. Obama will have to be elected
Obama has promised investigations into the crimes of Bush & Co. He will have to be in office before anything is turned over. This is my main reason for voting for him ! Justice will be restored.

4. Henry, now put some damned TEETH into it!
Compel this compliance by adding one of the Sergeant-at-arms officers or Capitol Hill police to go take it by force if necessary. 'Cause you know full well these bastards are gonna hem and haw and come up with excuses and continue trying to kick sand into the umpire's eyes.

5. To be honest, why?
Nothing Waxman does creates or produces any consequences or justice.

6. Two words.
Inherent. Contempt.

It should be obvious by now that nothing else will work.

9. Perhaps Waxman should switch to plan B and get Sibel Edmonds on the stand!
Edited on Mon Jun-16-08 01:27 PM by calipendence
She won't try to stand behind Bushco's "executive privilege", and probably DOES know more about what eventually boiled up to Plame's exposure with her knowledge of when Brewster Jennings was compromised by Marc Grossman! Then perhaps they might be more volunteering of some of their people to get on the stand if they feel they need to counteract her statements with their own.

Perhaps we should inundate Mr. Waxman's offices with notes on how Ms. Edmonds IS reported to know when Brewster Jennings was compromised so he gets the point!

8. It is past time to drain the swamp
and expose the vermin under the muck. It is time to get a backbone. While Waxman's actions here are appropriate they seem long overdue. I will not be holding my breath.

11. Which kind of a subpoena is it?
Is it the "we're going to fluff up our feathers, arch our backs, and make a big stink about it, but then do nothing when it's ignored" subpoena, or the one where "if we don't get what we want we will dispatch the House Sergeant of Arms to arrest anyone who doesn't cooperate with the United States Congress" subpoena?

15. Okay, but why doesn't he subpoena them to appear in person and
be questioned under oath by the committee. If I remember correctly those FBI interviews were not done under oath.
