So, Will Dodd and Feingold Keep Their Promise?
To filibuster "any" bill which contains immunity legislation?

The bill in question not only calls for immunity, it specifically
sets an "enabling letter" from the Bush administratiuon's attorney
general "or a director of intelligence" as an automatic "get out
of jail free" card compelling courts to immediately dismiss the
case in CIVIL court (where precedent for court action is typically
set by common law & precedent, previously unsullied by the legislature).

This means that low-level flunkies and witnesses to any Presidential crime
can be indemnified by getting a "permission slip" from an Admin. official.

1. They damn well better.
It looks like nothing else is going to stop this crap, except for the one guy standing in front of the tanks.

3. Their names will be mud in the Dem party and American in general if they don't. Just called Pelosi,
Hoyer & my congress creep Frank Wolf's office to inform them they are traitors to this country, belong in jail and that I will work very hard to insure they're never re-elected to any office in this country. Calling my 2 Senators now, which probably won't do any good. Jim Webb voted for this before and forget John Warner.

FUCK ALL OF THEM. MAY THEY ROT IN HELL.

5. DU needs to organize a campaign against Pelosi and Hoyer.

I don't know a mod on the blogosphere who would object.

She and Hoyer are the new Al Wynn / Joe Lieberman.

In fact, Hoyer is a neighbor and colleague of Al Wynn
in the DC suburbs.

4. Not to mention you can't sue the government
In almost any instance, it's against the law.

You can only sue flunkies who cooperate.

Indemnifying flunkies means the bill is not
subject to civil review, which means you can
not obtain evidence needed for a criminal case,
which means no Supreme Court review.

It is like the Dred Scott decision designed
to keep ex-slaves from suing their masters and winning.

7. I received an e-mail from Senator Leahy
saying he would not vote for it but he didn't say anything about stopping it.

8. Implies that he will let it pass. So he doesn't really oppose it either

Who would vote for cloture on a filibuster in the Dems' own party?

Obama? Leahy? Dodd -- like he did before after promising to filibuster?

9. So no filibuster then?
Or is it that Reid woud demand a cloture vote and once again
violate Senate tradition to deny Dems (but not Republicans)
the right to filibuster?

Any doubt that Republicans or their private sector security
expert friends are using clandestine methods to infiltrate both parties?
