Barack’s Bounce
The latest NEWSWEEK Poll shows the Democrat with a 15-point lead over McCain.

**snip**
Now it looks as if Obama is doing just that. A new NEWSWEEK Poll shows that he has a substantial double-digit lead, 51 percent to 36 percent, over McCain among registered voters nationwide.

**snip**
The latest numbers on voter dissatisfaction suggest that Obama may enjoy more than one bounce. The new poll finds that only 14 percent of Americans say they are satisfied with the direction of the country. That matches the previous low point on this measure recorded in June 1992, when a brief recession contributed to Bill Clinton's victory over Bush's father, incumbent George H.W. Bush. Overall, voters see Obama as the preferred agent of "change" by a margin of 51 percent to 27 percent. Younger voters, in particular, are more likely to see Obama that way: those 18 to 39 favor the Illinois senator by 66 percent to 27 percent. The two candidates are statistically tied among older voters.

6. Awsome news!
We have to get Obama in the WH this fall and increase our majorities in Congress. Hopefully these kinds of polls won't lull people into thinking that it's automatic...

7. Could it be? Are the voters intelligent enough to see through "the gas prices are the Dems fault?"
It seems to be the major puke strategy.

11. I think the GOP has shot its bolt
And there's more than four months to go. It's going to be a blowout in November, but the major media have a very strong interest in keeping the fiction of a horse race going. McCain is Dole 1996 redux.

So volunteer and work hard for the candidate of your choice with a glad and cheery heart. I think there are substantial down ticket opportunities for Democrats all over the country, and for once we're not playing defense or catch up. There's a lot of money going to Democratic candidates and a very good crop of candidates running. All your canvassing, phone banking, door knocking, and envelope stuffing will produce good results.

9. We're Going To Route The Rethugs In November
They may go the way of the Whigs.

I only hope that it doesn't get squandered by the current crop of craven "pass the Grey Poupon" "Democrats"
