So the Democratic Party stands for what exactly? Because I can't

figure it out any longer. Keep the illegal immoral war and occupation in Iraq going; continue the clusterfuck in Afghanistan w/ no clear definition of what the mission is there;bend, staple,fold,mutilate,stomp on and ignore the Constitution.Allow corporate criminals free rein to do as they please; allow government criminals to assist the corporate criminals. I dunno, but it's sounding an awful lot like what the GOPosse stands for.

Because no matter who gets in charge, the record shows that nothing substantial changes, except the system as a whole becomes more corrupt. There's actually an established practice in D.C. where when one party is in power, its friends sell their contacts with officials to the people on the other side; and when power (allegedly) changes hands, the situation reverses itself. This arrangement assures the permanent employment of the group of people whose jobs it is to corrupt our government and bend it to the will of private interests - a group of people who effectively govern no matter whose face it is on TV.

One bad vote doesn't change everything.

Don't forget, we still have a chance in the Senate to defeat this crap.

So, please don't fall into the GOP's favorite tactic: convincing independents, undecideds that there is no difference between the two major parties.

I truly believe that despite this fucked-up vote, the Constitution will survive. In a week, I hope to be proven correct.

But--right now--we're allowing our emotions to cloud this issue and our party.

How many times has the war been funded? Why was impeachment of the war criminals never on the table? Why is Scooter Libby the only Bushco official ever indicted? The crimes are many, the actions for justice are feeble, even for a Congress with a bare majority.

Would THAT be the forum to discuss the philosophy and future goals of the DEMOCRATIC party? You know, a forum to discuss the policies, issues and DIIFICULTIES involved in realizing them?

Or is the Convention merely a coronation?

The Dems need a bigger House majority, a real good Senate majority and the WH.
