So the Chimpster-In-Chief came to my neck of the woods, today.
Yup, Bush flew down to SW Florida Regional Airport today so that he could give some high school kid some award.

Actually, no. He came down here to attend by helicopter a $25,000 per plate fund raising luncheon at a $45 million house in Naples, home of "Philanthropist" Jack Donahue, founder of Federated Investors, which according to their website, has more than $338 BILLION in assets under management. He visited the same home in 2004. (Here's an old NYT story on that visit). Bush must REALLY like the Donahue's. He has reason to. They've given him and the Republican party a SHITLOAD of money.

I don't have the inclination to search for more info on Jack and his wife, but cursory searches reveal he has a hand in Ave Maria, the Catholic centered development near Naples that is the brainchild of Tom Monaghan, founder of Dominoes Pizza and noted fundy/conservative whackjob.

Here's a story from a couple of days ago from the Fort Myers News-Press. Here's one from the Naples Daily News

Here's video of the arrival of Air Force One. The video shows AF1 taxiing in, Apparent Secret Service guys with their backs to the plane, dipshit getting off, shaking some hands and then you see the HS kid. At the end you see him boarding a Presidential Helicopter.

OK....bear with me here for a second....

Video of him coming and going usually always shows AF-1 arriving. What you never see, hear about or read about is the ENORMOUS AMOUNT OF LOGISTICS involved in getting that dickhead down here to Florida to lick a plate (or anywhere to do anything, for that matter).

The Helicopter (and probably a spare, just in case), the limos and all the Secret Service guys and equipment were flown down here on an Air Force Transport, either a couple C-17's or one C-5 (or maybe more).

Air Force One conservatively bills out between $50,000 and $60,000 PER HOUR, plus the cost of the other Air Force Transports to move all the gear and guys.

So the Shrubmeister comes down here to SW Florida, flying the worlds most advanced private jet, accompanied by an army of staff, to attend a lunch at the private, luxury waterfront home of a multi millionaire specifically for the purpose of raising funds to re-elect assholes that agree with him, and......

YOU AND I PAID FOR IT

Now personally, I don't give a fuck if Mr. Donahue has been successful. Good for him. As long as he didn't hurt anyone along that way, I'm fine with it. It is no skin off my nose whatsoever that he spends more on annual water bills than I will make in a decade. I just don't give a fuck. And I don't care how he spends his money, either.

What pisses me right the fuck off is that THIS President has used Air Force One, in the eight years he has been in office, more than the 4 previous Presidents COMBINED. (OK, that's a guess. But I bet I'm not far off)

I'm glad he's gone. The breeze is much more pleasant at this hour.

1. One other thing, and please forgive the gratuitous kick......
But what truly gets my goat is that even though Clinton flew around a lot in his last term, he did it when Kerosene was CHEAP and he did it with a balanced Federal Budget and running a surplus.

This numbnuts flies all around the globe on a 747 like Jet Fuel comes up from a spring on the White House lawn.
