What Is MoveOn Talking About?
"We're permanently shutting the doors on our 527, which has been inactive since 2005. Not relying on big donors means that all of us, together, have to take responsibility. Are you in?"

no. i'm not in. i don't understand this. does this mean no more tv spots, or airing the "alex" spot, telling mccain "you can't have alex." is that what it means?

so, i clicked the heading on their website: 'be a part of the people powered revolution' to read more about it. and it took me to a page that says: 'thanks for taking the pledge.'

hey! i DIDN'T take the pledge yet.

what does "shutting the doors on our 527" mean exactly?

1. KO said they are shutting down their 527 but not their PAC (which is limited
to contributions of $5,000 or less.)

3. people powered..
I appreciate that they no longer want to take money from the big dogs, but I worry that us puppies aren't going to be able to keep up the pace.

4. I get sick of the constant requests
It feels like I get about 5 letters and 15 emails every week, or more, asking for money and calls too. I feel like cutting them all off or something. Please. I make $11,000 dollars a year. I am not made of money. I especially hate the way they seem to take what I donate to them and spend it on postage and letters to ask me for more money.

7. Obama is accomplishing what the RW could not. It all sounds nice
but where does his choices about not taking public funds and squashing 527's leave Dems running for office in the future? His is a movement. And like all movements, they come to a dwindling end. We are all falling for the hype. Effective use of 527's by the LEFT are helpful to us, not hurtful. Wake the F up people!!! We are being led over the edge of a cliff.
