I'd like it if the newsreaders would stop displaying their bias when reporting on oil, stocks and
other financial news. They do nothing to hide the fact that they want the price of oil to go down and the price of stocks to go up. They don't even try.

1. I would also like the price of oil to go down and stocks to go up.
$4/gal gas is getting to be a hardship and my teeny little 401K, which is all I have to retire on, ain't worth crap right now.

2. The result is that many good things are sacrificed for higher stocks and lower oil.
Certainly no one would begrudge someone of better economic conditions. Yet in today's economy when someone wins, someone else looses. This is the case in the sub-prime pyramid scheme. It's also the case for the bankruptcy industry. There are a lot of people who come in like vultures and feed off of the misfortune of others.

Now that people want to drill for oil off the coasts, we know that people will loose the great living conditions that they currently have. Development in general produces this effect too. It is so bad that Eminent Domain laws have been wrongfully used against people for the economic gain of others.

In the 80s, the conservatives preached that Americans don't have a right to a job. So why do the economic interests today think they have a right to further growth and profits at the expense of other Americans or even peoples of other countries? Bush's wars should certainly remind us that we have not always dealt fairly with other nations. Lower stock prices and higher oil prices might be a direct consequence or punishment for our bad choices (another plank of Conservative dogma). Should we not rejoice that our corrupt leaders are being taught a lesson? What we Democrats have failed to produce since 2006, is now occurring! Rejoice!

From 2002 to 2006, when our political and business "leaders" were doing wrong we saw their triumphalism and suffered over where our country was going. Although we wondered if we too would be hurt when Karma finally hit, we knew that it would hit. It is truly a joy to watch the results of the failed bush presidency being tallied. Lovers of peace, truth and justice are today's winners. At last.
