Poll question: What the hell is the deal with Pelosi?
Why do you think she complies with Bush on everything?

1. Probably some combination of #1 and #2
But #1 is ultimately the problem.

5. Collusion, not cowardice. Where is the logic in the "spineless" postulation? It's implausible
...that somehow all of those dems are, gee-golly-gosh, just so darn scaredy-cat over them big bully repubs, that they have to buckle like a belt, which just happens to always work in favor of the rightward/corporate agenda.

Nonsense. If not, explain how and why, and with such amazing consistency. Divide and rule.

23. She gets stuff done...
But not on the important-but-not-controversial stuff like CAFE standards. She folds like an accordian o n the big stuff.

4. She knows what's best for us. We couldn't possibly understand the complexities of her voting record
Or her statements.

As long as people like her are reelected, or in other cases run unopposed, we're going to get people who act as if they're above the law.

This stuff doesn't affect them. She'll still go to the powerful parties and influential events. She's set for life.

6. There's no way she's being blackmailed...the very idea infuriates me
As though that would excuse her or something.

She's pandering to the extreme right of the Democratic party, because she's incapable of doing the job of Speaker any other way.

She's let us all down so very, very hard.

7. I'm with you, she's terrible as House speaker.
We need someone more like Kucinich as House speaker. He's about the only one we have that's fighting Bush with everything he has.

8. We need someone, anyone, who can actually do the job
Speaker Pelosi has demonstrated repeatedly that she cannot.

12. I agree.

We are not in the minority about Pelosi. She has turned her back and rammed a knife into the entire Democratic Party. She's not spineless, nor being blackmailed. She's just complicit and very very narrow minded. She's not Speaker material.

We must support someone like Wexler for the job. She can have her BFF little Junior. They deserve each other.

:grr:

I think she is waiting for a D in the white house. If
something is done now Georgie JR. will get the credit. Not
that anyone pays attention anyway.

21. There's probably a bit of truth that Nancy Capitulosi is all three
She wants to remain uncontroversial and she values her power above all so she caves. She doesn't want the American people to know that she's complicit in allowing the Bush crimes to have occurred. And she's after all one of the elite who wants to remain a player and being a corporate whore is part of that.

26. What would be worth taking impeachment off the table?...
If Reid and Pelosi negotiated to keep impeachment off the table, which seems likely, what would be worth the exchange?

My vote is: Not bombing or going to war with Iran.
