Soldier died on 4th tour in Iraq: "wanted to slap" BushCo
Interesting obit in the L.A. Times today about a 26 y/o soldier killed on his FOURTH! YES FOURTH! Tour in Iraq.

http://www.latimes.com/news/obituaries/la-me-bolander22-2008jun22,0,2552596.story

The Army staff sergeant and Southern California native was due to be home from his fourth tour of duty in Iraq for his son’s birthday and his wedding to his fiancee.

But it was not to be.

Bolander, 26, was killed April 29 when his Humvee struck a roadside bomb in Baghdad.

....on his MySpace page, under "Who I'd like to Meet," the Ranger wrote that he wanted to meet President Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney and former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld "so I can slap" them.

RIP Sgt. Bolander.

But saying so would have gotten him a visit from both the SS and HS.

4. We decided to wait Bush out instead of challenging him.
We took the easy way out for us, the hard way for the Sgt.

7. On his girlfriends MySpace she commented "Iraq sucks"
Yes george, you are loved by many of the troops........

They know better than us what is really going on in Iraq. But they must be gagged, show no caskets..... The lie continues for McCain.

11. My nephew is coming home July 4, after completing his 15-month-long
second tour of duty. We are desperately hoping he won't have to go back again.

My son will return June 26 (4 more days! Yay!) after a 4-month tour. He isn't a soldier, so he doesn't have to do those incredibly long tours, but he will probably be back there next year for another short tour, and probably once more within a year after that, though his second and third tours are as likely to be in Afghanistan as in Iraq.

16. He was a better man than those three could ever be. Rummy shit on anything
the military he might have done. Same as Poppy and George - crapped all over people they supposedly were brothers of. Pirates they be.

18. I don't think ANYBODY should have a FOURTH TOUR!!!
It's just ridiculous that these f-in' REPUBLICANS who vote for the warmongers don't f-in' JOIN UP IF THEY LIKE THE WAR SO MUCH!

It's insane how many times they are sending people back there.

22. Agreed. Even if they make it home, how could that not destroy a person?
Such a stretch for the soul. Such tragedy. I can still scarcely accept the fact that we invaded, much less the fact that we're still there. To actually BE there, over and over and over and OVER, in a constant state of combat mind-set is simply unthinkable.

19. WHOA! FOURTH TOUR = 5 YEARS IN IRAQ?
Does this mean that this kid spent five years in Iraq? If the tours are 15 months apiece, then his fourth tour would mean that he spent 5 YEARS in Iraq. Is this correct? Does anyone know?

21. May he rest in peace.
Healing and comforting energy to the family. His family is our thoughts and prayers.

It is SO hard not to let anger overtake me - the Boooosh twins don't have the guts to enlist; and, yet, their daddy can't send everyone else's kid to die in a resource war of aggression.

and these soldiers having myspace and facebook pages. Wow, I'd love to find those sites to read their true thoughts and experiences.
