an Arabic news station that runs out of Virginia.

Jesus. The incompetence boggles the mind.

2. this news station was supposed to be a replacement of Al Jazerra for Arabs
and they ran such stories as Deniers of the Holocaust conference from Iran.

The American name for this station is "The Free One"

And it's acceptance over there has been "less than zero" according to one of the speakers.

2nd edit: Ooh ooh, referred to as the "Cheney Channel" by many.

3. I'm not with you.
Is there something wrong with an Arabic news station operating in Virginia? Why is this a failure on Shrubbie's part?

As Paul Harvey used to say, what's "the rest of the story"?

12. Thanks for the link. Now I understand.
Yes, this does indeed look like another shining example of BushCo's handiwork. I particularly love the bit about how the senior execs at the station don't understand Arabic, so they have no idea what's being broadcast. Brilliant, simply brilliant!

6. This Was The Payoff For Corporates
Major corporations like Clear Channel and Sinclair got no-bid deals to help build this network and other boondoggles. They were supposed to win "hearts and minds"...but the money was always what it was all about. Here's how they were rewarded for being such good cheerleaders. I can only imagine the next quid pro quo the GOOP has promised for helping throw this election.

just before it went "live".. They were all soooo happy.. they just KNEW that it would be welcomed with open arms..

Apparently they thought that the Arab public was as gullible as their "base"..

Republicans can fool their base by hiring black people to play the part of republican supporters/employees/staff..whatever.. and the 'merikan republican base eats it up and proclaims their party an open, friendly, diverse party...but apparently the Middle easterners are a leeeeeetle bit more discerning, and have their Bullshit-o-meter in the Full-ON position

16. But the brilliance in stealing two national elections, seizing almost complete control of the levers
of power, selling a war of aggression, bamboozling the Congress to jump through its collective figurative ass-hole to pass ruinous, unconstitutional laws and rubber-stamp wholly irresponsible tax and fiscal measures, turn the MSM into a shilling propaganda machine for its criminality and ineptitude, and controlling the public through fear and intimidation are the marks of sheer ruthless genius. :D
