First Lady Bush in Boston to promote an environmental education program

BOSTON -- First Lady Laura Bush has visited Boston to launch a program designed to teach urban children how to protect fragile ecosystems and create gardens in their neighborhoods.

First Bloom is the first nationwide program designed to help children learn about the environment and conservation by reintroducing and cultivating native plants in urban areas.

Bush originally launched the program last year in honor of Lady Bird Johnson, who died last July. The former first lady was an environmentalist devoted to preserving wildflowers and native plants.

Bush joined 30 students yesterday to plant native species in a newly designed garden in Boston National Historical Park, marking the city's first citywide First Bloom project. First Bloom is the National Park Foundation's newest grant program.

6. That worthless do-nothing bubble-head
shows up about twice a year to do something "public." The rest of the time she's out smoking behind the shed in the Rose garden or holed up in Crawford zoned out on Ativan and Jack Daniels.

Gawd, I have nothing but contempt for that woman! Has there ever been a more vapid, insipid, lifeless, banal First Lady in our history? Keep her away from Boston Garden! The plants will die of boredom around her.

7. Hate, Hate, Hate and more Hate
I see bumper stickers all the time the say, "Hate is not a family value".
Hate should not be a Democratic value either!

I am fairly new to this site and amazed at the amount of outright HATE that is espoused by those who preach tolerance. Disagreement and debate on issues is understandable and healthy but personal attacks make you no better than them.

8. Eight years of being abused can do that to people. It tends to make them angry.
And hating an individual for their actions is different from hating an entire group of people for the way they were born.

That's what separates us from the Republicks.

Republickers hate.

Democrats have "Righteous Anger," like what Jesus had toward the money changers.
