War is coming (and the press is napping) Mark Crispin Miller
From Mark's blog, News From Underground:

War is coming (and the press is napping)

Here are some new items on the chances and/or likely consequences of a US stike
against Iran: John Bolton claiming that Bush/Cheney will attack Iran before "the
next President" takes over; Mohamed ElBaradei warning that the Middle East will
turn into "a ball of fire" if the US/Israel go through with it (and that, in the event, he will resign as chief of the IAEA); and a harrowing survey, by David DeBatto (a former Army counterintel Special Agent), of the catastrophic consequences for us all if BushCo makes this fatal move.

Now, having read these pieces, take a look at today's New York Times (or Wall Street
Journal, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune or USA Today) or
take a peek at what they're jabbering about on CNN or MSNBC (or FOX), or any of
the nightly network newscasts. What do you see "covered" there?

These are hard times indeed for anyone who isn't in a trance.

3. I just saw on TV where some people got lost in the woods.
Detailed review of all their parents' inner thoughts coming right up. Nothing about Iran, Iraq, Israel, or the FISA sellout though.

6. war is good for the news biz !
So is a bad economy and all of the
bad things that have happened while bush has been in office.

when times are bad people tune in to see what's going on.
(because they have no money and are worried)
When times are good people are out doing things
(because they have money & less worries)

That's why the "liberal media" is so dammed Conservative.
It's about them, it's about money.

Maybe I'm over simplifying but it seems simple to me.

9. We would never do airstrikes in the western hemisphere.
Too close to home. We always do surgical special ops or full on ground troop/Marines storming the beaches invasions. Airstrikes mean real war, where as we can usually pass an invasion with ground troops off as a humanitarian effort.

13. Napping? Miller knows better!
He's the one who taught me that George Walker Bush is NOT, in fact, an idiot.

He knows damn well that the Corporate Media is in on the scam, and to characterize it as "napping" does a great disservice to the public.

16. K & R @&!!$ War Mongers
Are we just powerless pawns that have to sit by and watch this happen? Do we have any influence left at all?

At a time when our country is falling apart, we go on attack. At a time when nature is so out of balance, war is waged. Destructive monsters have taken over parts of our government and military, what on Earth can be done?
