Sewage Plant May Be Named After Bush

Tributes to U.S. presidents have come in all forms -- take the Washington Monument, the Kennedy Space Center and the Woodrow Wilson Bridge, to name a few. And soon, if a San Francisco group has its way, there could be the George W. Bush Sewage Plant, according to The New York Times.

A group called the Presidential Memorial Commission of San Francisco has been collecting signatures to rename the Oceanside Water Pollution Control Plant after Bush upon his exit from office next year. The plan -- conceived in a bar -- would place a vote on the November ballot to offer "an appropriate honor for a truly unique president," the group told the Times. Supporters said that they have enough signatures to qualify the measure.

Whether it is successful or not, the group wants supporters to participate in a "synchronized flush" when the new president is inaugurated on Jan. 20 to send a flood of water toward the plant. Read the full story at nytimes.com.

7. Sewage itself should be renamed after George Bush
Edited on Wed Jun-25-08 10:02 PM by aint_no_life_nowhere
We need to add a dictionary definition to the word bush.

It should more aptly be renamed the "Bush Treatment Plant".

8. The Oceanside Plant is really nice and modern looking.
They should name the dump after him or the other sewage treatment plant in Hunter's Point after the Turd In Chief.

We really should just rename Bush Street. (I know it's not named after him or his family, it's just a blemish on our city, kind of like Nancy Pelosi.)

This is the sign at Presidio and Bush.

14. I think it's offensive - they should name the tube the sludge comes out of after him.
But not the treatment plant itself, which takes shit and makes it into something good and safe.

But the final tube that the last of the sludge goes out of? Call that the George Bush Shit Pipe.

17. The little turd from Crawford doesn't deserve to have an entire facility named after him...
His name should be forgotten to history. If something has to bear his horrible name, a septic tank would suffice.

20. A friends reply on this...
I also read the system will have a unique design. The raw sewage will be treated to 50% then dumped into a tank labeled "Mission Accomplished" where it will fester for an additional five years.
