Tyler (you remember...slept during Bush speech) Crotty in trouble with the law
Tyler Crotty cited for careless driving in crash that injures girl, 9

The son of Orange County Mayor Rich Crotty was involved in a three-vehicle crash Wednesday that left a 9-year-old girl seriously injured, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Tyler Crotty, 17, lost control of a 2005 red Hyundai carrying him and two cousins while driving south on rainy Daetwyler Drive near Judge Road around 4 p.m, troopers said. The Hyundai sideswiped a Lynx bus in the northbound lane and then hit the left side of a 2003 black Honda van behind the bus.

The injured girl, identified as Abigail Horton of Orlando, was in the van's passenger seat. Her mother, Kristie Horton, 38, was driving, said Trooper Kim Miller, FHP spokeswoman.

Everyone involved in the accident was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center. Crotty and his cousins -- Daniel Crotty, 22, and Zachary Blakly, 18 -- were treated for minor injuries and released. The Lynx driver, the only person on the bus, was not hurt.

Son of Repub Bush fundraiser/Orange County Mayor Rich Crotty.
Strange, that while there were twelve bottles of beer in the car driven by the younger Crotty and his two teen cousins, there was no alcohol testing done.

When reached by phone, the mayor said "Everything is fine." (Yeah right, I'll bet the little girl's family thinks the same.)

2. The rest of the story
"Authorities found a dozen beer bottles in Crotty's car but do not think alcohol played a role in the accident, Miller said. All the bottles were capped, and none of the contents had been consumed, she said."

So unless there was the presence of alcohol on the driver, no foul!
