In the wake of the convictions, remember: INVESTIGATE CHENEY & UNRAVEL THE CABAL

Both of these blog entries were posted separately on DU prior to Libby's conviction. Here they are posted together, hopefully as Congressman Waxman will read them. Dear Chairman Waxman,

Congratulations on becoming Chairman of the House Oversight & Government Reform Committee. I commend you for your decision to begin your investigation into the corruption plaguing the current administration occupying the White House. I’ve noticed Halliburton appears quite a number of times on your docket. Within this focus, I’m sure that you and your staff will find a wide range of suspicious activity to investigate: from no-bid contracts in Iraq, (http://www.truthout.org/docs_03/082903B.shtml) to continuing contract awards in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, (http://www.halliburtonwatch.org/news/katrina2.html) to their continuing loophole business deals in Iran (http://www.projectcensored.org/censored_2007/index.htm#2) and probably much more yet to be discovered. Obviously, with an investigation into Halliburton, the spotlight will eventually shine on former CEO Dick Cheney. While there is a multitude of suspicious events and criminal acts that occurred at Halliburton during Mr. Cheney’s tenure, I strongly recommend that you NOT limit your investigation of Mr. Cheney only to his time as the CEO of Halliburton, but extend your search into his time as Vice President of the United States as well. It is worth noting that while Mr. Cheney may claim that his ties with Halliburton have been severed, it is also true, according to page 225 of Craig Unger’s book House of Bush House of Saud, he could potentially profit from his 433,333 shares of unexercised Halliburton stock options. A Congressional Research Service report requested by Senate Democrats concluded that unexercised stock options in a private corporation, as well as deferred salary received from a private corporation, were “retained ties” or “linkages” to a former employer and should be reported as “financial interests.” In fact, Cheney’s Halliburton stock rose more than 3000% last year to $9.2 million. (http://www.projectcensored.org/censored_2007/index.htm#24) As Mr. Cheney is less than forthright in this flagrant conflict of interest, I am sure your investigation will find Mr. Cheney less than forthright on a multitude of different scandals he is connected with during his time in the OVP.

One of these scandals was investigated in the summer of 2004 by a number of different researchers at www.democraticunderground.com who came together on “The Plame Indictment Threads” to figure out why CIA agent Valerie Plame and her cover company Brewster, Jennings & Associates had their cover blown and who had the greatest motive for doing it. From this research, I wrote the 1st edition of American Judas, (http://s93118771.onlinehome.us/DU/AMERICANJUDAS.pdf, http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=103&topic_id=66773) a paper that reiterated the consensus reached on the threads that Dick Cheney exposed Valerie Plame to cover up his association with A.Q. Khan’s Nuclear Walmart. The 2nd edition of American Judas, enclosed with this letter, digs deeper into this scandal in which the outing of Valerie Plame appears to be the tip of the iceberg. We will explore what former Secretary of State Colin Powell’s Chief of Staff Lawrence Wilkerson describes as the “Oval Office Cabal” headed by Cheney through which organizations such the Office of Special Plans (OSP) and the White House Iraq Group (WHIG) fixed intelligence to mislead the country into an unnecessary war in Iraq. Finally, we will examine the possibility of how this is all connected with the curious case of former FBI translator Sibel Edmonds, gagged by former Attorney General John Ashcroft from revealing the details of what she knows about “Everything – from drugs to money laundering to arms sales. Essentially, there is only one investigation – a very big one, an all-inclusive one. Completely by chance, I, a lowly translator, stumbled over one piece of it. But I can tell you there are a lot of people involved, a lot of ranking officials, and a lot of illegal activities that include multi-billion-dollar drug-smuggling operations, black-market nuclear sales to terrorists and unsavory regimes, you name it. And of course a lot of people from abroad are involved. It's massive. So to do this investigation, to really do it, they will have to look into everything… That's the beauty of it. You can start from the AIPAC angle. You can start from the Plame case. You can start from my case. They all end up going to the same place, and they revolve around the same nucleus of people. There may be a lot of them, but it is one group. And they are very dangerous for all of us.

you definately don't get enough kudos around here. I remember the Plame threads from Summer 04 and how I spent days and days wading through those and could not get anything done.
