Why handguns are preferred - by Antonin Scalia
Scalia noted that the handgun is Americans' preferred weapon of self-defense in part because "it can be pointed at a burglar with one hand while the other hand dials the police."

I'm sure one handed cell phone dialing and not British soldiers are what the founding fathers were thinking about when they wrote the second amendment.

1. You don't know that!
As you can see from this wood carving, this Patriot is clearly hampered by the carrying of a flag with both hands.

If he had a hand gun, he could point it at one of his slaves to hold the flag for him, while he calls the cops to tell them what sweet cheeks they have and that Jews control the police force.

He's got enough ego to be pResident.

The GOP does love their Grade B actors, and don't seem to care about the stupid shit they say.

23. I have days like that
but I'm not a self-important, gasbag, thorn-in-the-side, stereotype of the Southrun Gentamin, so it doesn't bother anyone.

OK, maybe my southern-fried neighbors...

2. LOL! And Scalia claims the constitution doesn't evolve
while he decries judicial activism.

THis decision is just about as big a farce as anything except Bush v. Gore (which Scalia says we should get over since it was years ago).

3. Oh for god sake! What a stupid reason!!!! I prefer a hand gun because
it's lighter and easier to handle! It can be hidden! A lot of them are small caliber so the ammo is cheaper. Geeze Tony, do I have to explain EVERYTHING to you????

9. Like the cops weren't pulling guns in the past.
Maybe the cop will think twice about that, if he is the kind of shit bird just pulling you over for a bogus shake down to begin with.

Not all thieves were panty hose on their heads, some wear stinkin badges.

8. His reasoning's off.
Granted, I agree with the decision, but I doubt that many people in that situation are going to juggle a cell phone and a handgun.

Handguns are very useful for self defense, specifically because they are small and convenient - use of deadly force is as easy as point and click, or shall I say, point and shoot. Get a CCW permit, and you can carry them with you. You can keep them on your nightstand next to your bed. They're handy. Long guns are far more unwieldy and can't be brought to bear in a self-defense situation quickly.
