..which country do you think the GOP will put in its place?

Just posted on Yahoo News (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080626/ap_on_go_pr_wh/us_nkorea;_ylt=AscAtiRXYqArcfs5N.gWthCs0NUE), so it might change or even disappear.

1. It's obvious why he's doing this...
Bush is getting ready to make a move on Iran. However, he has to do a bit of window dressing first.

He's trying to demonstrate that he's not a hater. He's not a bad guy. He's just a tough cowboy who
will severely punish countries that don't abide by our rules. North Korea was punished when they
didn't follow our rules.

Bush is demonstrating that he's reasonable--when the leaders of these countries are reasonable.

He's setting the stage for war with Iran. He's showing that Iran is the problem, not himself.

After all--he let North Korea off the "axis" list. Iran can be removed as well, if they behave
accordingly.

See, isn't Bush nice and reasonable? Isn't Iran bad and unreasonable?

Look for more amping up with Iran in the very near future, and also Bush using this North Korea
incident to demonstrate that North Korea is GOOD, and Iran is BAD.

We're going to war people.

And to answer your question.... Syria. PNAC listed their targe list as follows: Iraq, Iran, Syria. My
guess is Syria. They've told us their plan, folks. They aren't kidding.

3. Venezuela.
While Syria makes more sense, Venezuela would let him tap into that racist, anti-Hispanic feeling that is out there.

It gives him a "we're surrounded" feeling as well. Venezuela is interfering with our markets! They're funding people who can come up through our borders! We need fences!

So even though Syria fits their original profile, Venezuela gives them a much more well known target. Chavez is on the news every so often. Who the hell is in charge of Syria? I don't think it would play on TV, which they need so desperately.

7. Venezuela is already being reviled daily in the media
This morning on CNBC they were talking about how China is attempting to influence Venezuela into selling them more of our oil that they keep for us under their ground of which we already buy half.

8. That's why I think that they're more likely to be the next "evil" country.

Syria is scary since it's unknown to the vast majority of the public. Mystery breeds contempt sometimes.

But the press already has their marching orders on Chavez, immigration, scary Hispanics, etc.

My favorite way to shut up the people who say Mexican immigrants are here to take our jobs is quite simple. "I hate all those damn Mexicans who took the Linux system administrator jobs, and yeah the ones who are taking the financial analysis and phone support jobs too." It points out the hypocrisy about what kind of jobs are being taken, and where the high paying ones went. A very white, very American CEO chose to send the jobs out of the country.
