Frontline scandal between US newswoman Lara Logan and her two lovers
http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/story/0,21985,23942494-663,00.html

June 30, 2008 12:00am

SHE'S one of America's hottest TV newswomen, now Lara Logan is making news for herself from Baghdad.

She has been labelled a homewrecker for her trysts with an Aussie newsman and the husband of a US Embassy worker.

The sultry 60 Minutes reporter and former swimsuit model is in the middle of a scandal involving herself and two of her war zone lovers, Australian CNN war reporter Michael Ware and a American civilian contractor Joe Burkett.

Mr Burkett's wife Kimberly is a US Embassy worker and has accused Logan of destroying the Burketts' marriage.

1. She's the homewrecker?
Not the trysting husbands?

25. Really? Sweet.
Add that to my sigline for a week, if you don't mind.

It's too funny.

26. Be my guest.
The silliness of ascribing blame only to women was apparent to me even as a teen.

3. I've heard speculation that Murdoch's NY Post has been digging for this.
That Murdoch didn't like Ware's and Logan's presumably "anti-Iraq war" stance in their reports. And I think it was the NY Post that first reported this story.

5. so more than likely this is bullshit
that figures. We have to get our press right if we are to ever wish to turn things around.

7. After her appearance on The Daily Show
I figured she'd get swift-boated when she said that she doesn't routinely watch stateside coverage of the wars because it's just too nauseating. No surprise that Murdoch is leading the "charge." How many will follow? It could be a snapshot of how much pull Murdoch still has.

But hey, people take Fox serious so what the hell...

Either way, who cares? They're grown adults.

4. Must be slim pickins out there.
I did always thing that Logan was exploited for her looks,
and she always wore pretty sexy, provocative outfits for
a war correspondent.

It is infotainment news even from a war zone, I suppose.

I still prefer Christiane Amanpour, even though her reporting
and commentary have been very much watered down.

24. If That Were True
they'd assign her to the Hollywood beat. She has a pretty impressive resume - geeze she even speaks 4 languages.

13. The whole story smacks of sexism
because when have we ever heard about the dalliances of male reporters? Or are we to believe they never happened? This is a story because Ms Logan has a vagina. And she's beautiful.

16. I don't think I've ever seen the love life of a journalist reported as a story before.
So very strange that the subject of this this little tabloid smear story would be one of the only actual journalists working in the corporate media.

17. Someone who speaks out must be silenced. What better way than
scandal. However, in general, I think the American public is beyond such maligning.

18. Corpmedia is targeting her for speaking the truth - just like they did to Dan Rather.
She's well on her way to being pushed out unless she knuckles under.
