and all of the states where the levees broke? I have seen little coverage about the people and how they are getting along. There have been a lot of disasters and little or no follow ups about what is going on. There are so many foreclosures where are all of the people who have lost their homes?
but they still owe on the house, have a daughter in grad school and are still paying off two cars and my stepdads most recent student loans. Apparently, the eligibility scale is not impacted by anything as mundane as reality...
We didn't get the damage many did here in the Cedar Rapids area. We suffered about $5,000.00 worth. We decided to get ahead of the game....signed up as quick as we could....they called ....came over and did an inspection....then told us we would hear from them shortly. I have to say they were prompt and courteous. We opened the letter Saturday......3 figures...$0.00. Fortunately we were saving to take our kids and grandkids on a vacation to a large house on a lake....we canceled that of course and the kids understand.......maybe next year.
I guess I might have been surprised if we did get any help..........I think I'll stop there with my thoughts.....not good thoughts at the moment........
