Italy to Free Berlusconi from the Rule of Law
From: http://www.iht.com/articles/2008/07/08/europe/italy.php

"Several thousand Italians protested in Rome on Tuesday against government plans to push laws through Parliament that critics say were tailor-made to help Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi sidestep legal troubles.

Lawmakers began discussing a measure that would grant immunity from prosecution to the top four Italian leaders, including Berlusconi, who is on trial in Milan on corruption charges..."

I mean, like it is GREAT that Silvio got elected Prime Minister while under indictment for corruption, and even better that he is going to get laws passed which are retroactive and will shield him (and his henchmen) from justice. Ain't democracy great.

Bush - I know you are watching this with envy! But hey, its not too late for you either.

1. Why would Bush be watching this with envy?
Berlusconi is taking lessons from this GOPer Admin and have cowed his congresscritters into passing bills which put him above the law. Bush gets a get out of jail free card from this FISA bill just as Berlusconi is now getting his version of the same card.

3. Berlusconi is just evil.
Italy is not going through a good spell politically right now, what with him and the neo-fascist Mayor of Rome.
