And I agree with you. Posing such a question about Jackson was plain dopey in my opinion. But if Obama hadn't accepted the apology it would have been a bigger story and help Dan's ratings for a couple of shows. Blech. Jon Benet again and then this crap. The tv is going off.

21. I switched to TCM - an old Red Skelton movie is starting now
Finished a Danny Kaye movie just before this. I needed a huge change, I guess.

I'm planning to make some pillow covers tomorrow so I also hunted down some easy instructions on the web. Get my mind off things and use up some fabric I fond at the thrift shop.

20. Jesse had the right to say what he said if that's what he believes.
His son's statement sounded as if he was talking about a third party and not his own dad. And yes, I still remember certain things that Jr. said that were beyond the pale.

As for Abrams, he's wrong.

has to do with anything. As for Sr., he has every right to say whatever the hell he chooses, but I can understand why someone like you would defend it, because in your world, anything that attacks our nominee is just fine by you.

14. Let's be honest. Jesse is witnessing his greatest ambition becoming
a reality for an African American man who isn't him. Jesse and others from the Civil Rights Era risk becoming irrelevant if Obama is elected. This was sorta discussed on Tom Joyner this morning, and I can't for the life of me imagine why Jesse would think Obama's talking down to anyone.

25. You're entitled to your opinion, as am I. Yours is no more valuable than mine.
I don't take away anything from Jesse and the contributions he made to history, especially in the Civil Rights area, but the torch has been passed. If Jesse were an honorable man, and he had these misgivings about Obama, why not sit Obama down and tell him to his face? Why get caught whispering your disapproval, and end up having to make the rounds to renounce and reject your own statements?

I stand by my previous assessment. You may not like the sound of it, but there's a lot of envy at play here, and Jesse's not the only one. I say this as a lifelong African American myself.
