Rudy for president.... WAIT let me explain
Edited on Wed Mar-07-07 10:42 AM by cooolandrew
It appears to me the Democratic Party are way too overly confident of support so make them nervous any poll your way vote for a republican. Once they start earning it as they should be doing, even if it's just passionate speeches, move the vote back again, if they earn it. Especailly in Liebermans state. It's just a thought.

1. Aren't you afraid that your idea could backfire in a huge way?
As in "Oh, the Republicans are up in the polls ... maybe we should be more like them!"

3. Well, I tend to agree, but...
we (meaning activists, netrooters and whathaveyou) are very big on instant gratification when it comes to politics. The Libby verdict came down yesterday, so Cheney should be impeached today. Congress, however, moves at the speed of molasses. That's just the way deliberative bodies work. So, Given that the verdict is such recent news, I'd say we should take the long view for a little while here.

5. Ok, that part I can concede but...

but what I find is they mostly lack passion for what is the most highly responsible influential job in the world. Dems should make every word count, even if the process is slow every speech should be JFK-esque, because these are dramatic times. They can do it and should do it.

4. Rudy would be our worst nightmare
I think his strenth as a candidate is wildly underestimated on our side. Repukes will hold their noses and vote for him, and he will get moderates on our side. Another f*cking 9-11 exploitation-thon, a never-ending culture of fear.

8. It's not about Rudy it's about making Dems want the presidency rather than expect it.

12. I agree, Rudy would be tough in a general election
Has their been anything other than fellating praise of him in the media since 9/11? Can we expect anything different over the next 18 months?

7. Dame Rudy is already up in the polls
There was a poll in PA and NJ showing him beating Hillary. His positive ratings arealready very high, which sends the message that Americans prefer a warmongering, Bush loving, man of low moral character for president. I am not sure how you think that will help anything.

Dame Rudy would be the hardest for us to beat, imo. AMericans buy the "hero of 9-11" myth and I doubt MSM will tell them the truth anytime soon.

9. N.E.V.E.R. No Way. Not Me
I will NEVER vote for a Republican.

Never. Ever. It will NOT happen.

The "worst" Democrat is far, far better than the "best" Republican.

... all it is I am saying is make them nervous with poll figures then they will fight harder, maybe not faster but at least harder.
