US Attorney purge related to CIA purge?

Why dc dems and media tend to deal with each misdeed and outrage without talking about the overall pattern is a major frustration. The administration purged the CIA of independent thinkers -- those not "on board" with the WH -- after 2004 at at time when intelligence accuracy and independence was a major issue. Now we see a US attorney purge that has been ongoing since 2005, at least, at a time when corruption and mismanagement are major issues. And we've seen similar in the military (Shinseki and lots more) and in every branch of government (regulators are only believers and usually from the industry they govern).

I really hope this time that the dots are connected and discussed and action taken. Isolated hearings with no teeth and no vision just let off steam.

that got put in at Gonzales' request and fulfilled an apparent longstanding goal of his which was to be able to monopolize all control of US attorneys for the executive branch alone, completely cutting out the senate and judiciary (the latter stepped in if the senate didn't confirm a candidate within 4 months). There's no special link except a continuing drive to make the US government more like that of the USSR, with political officers everywhere under Party control.
