To the Editor,

We know very little about Senator Obama, but we do know that he is unwilling to take a firm stance on issues. Is this really a characteristic of a good president? Here are a small number of the issues he has flip-flopped on.

Campaign Financing – Stated he would accept public financing for the general election, and then later rejected it.

FISA – Voted in favor of the government’s eavesdropping program and legal immunity for telecommunications companies after promising his supporters he would reject it.

Gun Ban – An advocate for both an individual’s right to own a gun as well as the government’s right to regulate ownership.

NAFTA – Assured America he would negotiate a better deal with NAFTA, then winked to the Canadian government that this was simply political posturing and NAFTA would remain unchanged.

Iraq – Assured his supporters that he would have all American troops pulled out of Iraq immediately, now he claims this would not be possible.

The list is endless.

I am a member of PUMA PAC. We are a group of citizens motivated to action by our shared belief that the current leadership of the Democratic National Committee has abrogated its responsibility to represent the interests of all democrats in all 50 states. I wish to emphasize that I and thousands of other PUMA members will not vote for Sen. Obama, the DNC’s selected not elected nominee for the 2008 election.

I am a lifelong Democrat since 1964 and I have changed my party affiliation to Independent and if Hillary Clinton is not the Democratic nominee, I will vote Republican for the first time ever.

1. It starts with a GOP talking point...
"We know very little about (insert name here), but we do know..."

I just want to know, how is it this group is so certain that there is no knowledge about (insert name here), but in the next breath can assert with complete certainty something about (insert name here).

Amazing.

11. Well, that's mature.
Sounds like something you'd see on South Park. Are these people 12 or something?

In the nearly 40 years that I have been voting, I have rarely, if ever, had my first choice candidate make it to the finals. This is how politics works. Sometimes you pick the person who wins, sometimes not. Stomping your feet and holding your breath and forming a PAC that has an anacronym for a big cat but really stands for a sore loser mentality doesn't show a lot of maturity or respect for the political process.

"Screw you guys! I'm going home!" PAC might also fit.

12. I believe the leader of PUMA claims she was a Hillraiser, but checking

her donations, they were all to McCain, none for Hillary. I would research this, especially the campaign donation record of the leader. You might find the info here or at KOS or Talking Points Memo.

Here's some in action.

13. PUMA is fake, contact your paper and alert them. The creator of the
PAC portrays herself as a life long Dem, but her campaign donations tell a different story.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/People_United_Means_Action

Darragh Murphy created the Puma PAC, People United Means Action Political Action Committee.<7> Her plans to protest the election include voting for John McCain, staying home, or writing Hillary Clinton on the ballot. She says that the immediate goal of her website is to spread the claim that the millions of those who supported Hillary Clinton do not intend to support Barack Obama.<6> In the 2000 election, Murphy contributed $500 to McCain's campaign; in the time covered by the OpenSecrets.org online database (1990-2008), she has not contributed to any Democrats.<14> According to Fundrace 2008 however,<15> Murphy has given $650 to Clinton's presidential campaign as of Q2 2008.
