She looks our lab (holly) we rescued from the pound as a pup, took her home and raised her with picard our ferret, whenever picard got out holly would bring him back by the nape of his neck, best pals they were and much fun to watch.

19. My dog did the same thing with my cat's kittens.

Gypsy had no milk to give them but would lie down and let them suckle her when the moma cat needed a break. It went on for several months even after the kittens were on solid food. I think animals just sense helplessness and know they are not threatened. They certainly have better instincts than we do!
