Excellent Article in Harpers: How a gang of right-wing con men destroyed Washington...
Just a heads up. Great article in this month's issue of Harpers. I have know a couple of these right wing types, and it is amazing how similar they are, particularly they're complete lack of morals when it comes to the political process. It is an amazing thing to see up close. The Democratic party has a few such folks, like Mark Penn, but with the GOP, the question is not completely lacking in ethics. The article captures the militant nature of the right wing, as well as their willingness to do anything to obtain power, as well as their willingness to abuse it.

2. Yeah, Noticed That. I have the hard copy, but recommend it...
It has a nice bit of history and background. Its a refreshing bit of actual journalism with research, rather than typical trash that passes for news these days. I would not subscribe to Harpers, because it is pretty random what articles they have, so I just buy them depending on whether they have an article I find interesting.

3. I'm about halfway through it, still able to read
for only a few minutes at a time, but it's well worth the effort--and the cover price.

This month's crossword in the back is a fun one, too.
