In response to his controversial comments about children with autism, Autism United and angry parents will hold a major protest outside WOR Radio studios in Manhattan on Monday afternoon, CBS 2 HD has learned.

They will be calling for the firing of the radio jock and asking for a boycott by parents of children with autism of all stations carrying his signal. Savage outraged the autism community recently by saying 99 percent of children suffering with autism are "brats" and "morons" on his national syndicated radio show.

During the July 16 edition of his show, Savage claimed that autism is " fraud, a racket. ... I'll tell you what autism is. In 99 percent of the cases, it's a brat who hasn't been told to cut the act out. That's what autism is. What do you mean they scream and they're silent? They don't have a father around to tell them, 'Don't act like a moron. You'll get nowhere in life. Stop acting like a putz. Straighten up. Act like a man. Don't sit there crying and screaming, idiot.' "

Robbie Schwartzman is a 15-year-old from our area with autism. His father, Martin Schwartzman, says Savage's attack on autism is both irresponsible and despicable.

If Savage could make it living and working in California's SF Bay area for almost a decade on one 50,000 watt station, he wont be put out of business now that he is heard all over the country for years.

Fact is the redneck, pick-truck driving conservatives like him almost as much as that Oxycontin-head, Rush Limpballs.

BTW, this isn't the first time by a long shot that Savages' filthy mouth has gotten him in hot water, but he always manages to bail out of his predicament someway or another. He is a very sad man who takes his rage out on everyone around him, both in real life and on the airwaves.

Even his neighbors are scared to death living near this right-wing fanatic, out in Marin County, California, across the bay-bridge, north of San Francisco.

I know I shouldn't think of such things, but he's just pushing the envelope for ratings and to attract more morons to his show - this "stunt" deserves a beating.

My kid brother is autistic. Sadly, I'n British so I can't come along to the protest but this stunt deserves a good firm smack in the mouth.

I always claim that right-wingers never mature beyond their teenage years - Savage, Rush, Hannity, O'Liely and others demostrate this in spades...

My three friends who have autistic children will be so thrilled.

Now I think we should focus on finding a cure for narcissism, bad manners and the complete lack of empathy. I nominate Mr. Savage as the Poster Child.

People should not be paid for promoting hatred, and sneering at vulnerable people.
