$6K for PIZZA?
"The campaign also owed local firms in states such as Pennsylvania and Indiana, where Clinton fought in late, competitive primaries. She owed nearly $1,800 to Kokomo Center Schools in Indiana, for instance, and nearly $6,000 to Dakota Pizza in Wynnwood, Pa"

http://blog.washingtonpost.com/the-trail/2008/07/20/clinton_loaned_self_another_1.html

I worked in a Pizza shop to put myself through college, and I have to question how do you spend $6,000 bucks there? we had a large (old fashioned) pizza oven -- we could only bake 12 pizzas at a time. Maybe it was for multiple days?

I just thought that was weird, but I'm sure Dakota Pizza was very happy for the business!

8. REAL Cheesesteak
Edited on Mon Jul-21-08 10:11 AM by Kentish Man
does not have peppers, people!

From the Dakota stromboli menu:

Cheese Steak

Steak, Cheese, Sauce, Suntan Peppers & Onions

Just like chili doesn't have beans!

9. REAL Cheesesteak doesn't even have cheese! (REAL cheese, that is)
REAL cheesesteaks use Cheez-Whiz.

If it has real cheese, it's a SNOB cheesesteak!

:toast:

10. Who says that's "real?"
I, for one, think chili is gross without beans.

:)

7. The place I worked at in college had a conveyor oven...

...and was located near a college, so big orders for events (~20-50 pies) were pretty common and just took a little advance planning to make sure we'd have all the ingredients we'd need.

Given the Dakota menu linked to above, it was either multiple days, one big event, or a combination of the two. Whether or not it was excessive for a campaign office depends on how many people they operated out of it.
