In all that time what was the most prosperous time for America?

2. Clinton was certainly a prosperous time for most

American's. The Carter presidency was a disaster economically though.

At least the first term. Carter was the first adult on the scene left to pick up the pieces of the fiscal disaster called Vietnam.

It is not an enviable position.

4. Neither of those is completely true.

Poverty, for example, did increase from 9.3 to 10.3 during the Carter years, but it rose to 12.3% under Reagan before falling and then rising back to 12.3% under Bush. Unemployment was 7.5% when Carter took office and fell to 6% or lower for all of 1979 before rising back to 7.5% in Jan. 1981.
