Top war crimes suspect Karadzic arrested in Serbia

BELGRADE, Serbia -- Former Bosnian Serb leader Radovan Karadzic, accused architect of massacres making him one of the world's top war crimes fugitives, was arrested Monday evening in a raid that ended a near 13-year manhunt, the country's president and the U.N. tribunal said.

Karadzic is the suspected mastermind of mass killings that the U.N. war crimes tribunal described as "scenes from hell, written on the darkest pages of human history." They include the 1995 massacre of 8,000 Muslims in Srebrenica, Europe's worst slaughter since World War II.

there is no such thing as free will. Everything is learned rom experienced.

Take a child and have it grow up in a box... how do you suppose that child would react to anything outside of that box?

That made me realize that what we call "free will" may be more of a pre-programmed resolution to prior experiences. Who knows really... but interesting none the less.

I'm not even totally sure if we do have free will. There was a PET-scan-style study a while back that looked at this sort of question. It involved people making decisions, and what the found in a very abbreviated sense was that the brain "lit up" before people actually became aware of having made a decision. IOW, they were sort of along for the ride and rationalized the decision in an ad hoc fashion.

We sit back and permit the slaughter of innocents and then pat ourselves on the back when we arrest him and put him on trial! How absolutely contemptuous of us to flout our "humanitarianism" and "concern for our fellow man" when we're guilty of allowing such BS to occur.
In my view we're just as guilty as if we were standing on a street corner watching somebody's grandmother getting raped and murdered across the street and doing nothing! I would understand if you're a 5'1", 95 pound lady but, the USA is the 500 pound gorilla! The EU is the 400 pound gorilla! If you have the wherewithal and still choose to do nothing, you are an immoral, pathetic coward.
Although we don't deserve it, I hope the victims' families will one day forgive us.
