Did anyone here hear Harrison(?) on Randi yesterday talking about a Bush directive to suspend
elections in case of a crisis? I caught just a little of it, and it was quite disturbing. Anyone? Anyone? Buellar?

2. Presidential directive 51 I believe.
You can google it. It's why he should be impeached immediatly and why the blood will be on Pelosi's hands if he isn't

4. Here in L.A. we get Johnny Wendel.
He's awful. I turn him off as soon as I hear his voice. Also turn off Lionel and Phil Henrie. They are neither progressive nor liberal. They are just sadly ignorant.

9. Probably referring to NSPD 51/HSPD-20, which are identical and are allegedly...
...all about maintaining "continuity of government" (COG) in the aftermath of catastrophic event.

Thing is, this PD, by incredible coincidence, sets Bushie up as the sole authority in determining if an act is catastrophic enough to trigger implementation of the COG scenario.

Here's a few of the more outrageous provisions on NSPD 51/HSPD-20:

(b) "Catastrophic Emergency" means any incident, regardless of location, that results in extraordinary levels of mass casualties, damage, or disruption severely affecting the U.S. population, infrastructure, environment, economy, or government functions;“ (which means Katrina II, a California quake, a flood in the Midwest, a massive power outage, etc.)

(18) "The Secretary of Defense, in coordination with the Secretary of Homeland Security, shall provide secure, integrated, Continuity of Government communications to the President, the Vice President, and, at a minimum, Category I executive departments and agencies.” (The shadow government is well cared for and safely out of harms way.)

(6) "The President shall lead the activities of the Federal Government for ensuring constitutional government.” (This is in recognition of The Decider's well-documented veneration for Constitutional law. It also sets him up with the Intergalactic Czar job he's always wanted.)

And that's just the public stuff. The plans for implementing this national security state are so secret that Oregon Congressman Peter DeFazio, a member of the House Homeland Security Committee, was refused a look behind the curtain.

Here's a few links about this PD, starting with the official announcement itself from the White House website.

This article from Global Research does a fine job of pointing out the possibilities behind the officialese.

And this from The Progressive.

Finally, this one from Online Journal does a great job of putting this particular pile of dung into proper context.

12. I think some of the nuttier ones here are going to be very disappointed.
When Obama and the Democratic Party sweep the November elections, instead of their imagined vote fraud conspiracies.

And then I'm sure there will be plenty of unfounded speculation that Bush won't hand over power.

And then come January 20 when there is a peaceful hand over of power and President Obama is sworn in, the conspiracy-bots just won't know what to do, and their heads might explode.
