TN. Church gunman a Freeper?
Edited on Mon Jul-28-08 09:12 AM by npincus
Press conference ongoing now... Police say that document left by shooting suspect indicates his motive was hatred of the "liberal movement".

Police responded to question that he was targeting liberals and gays.

If his "manifesto" is published, one can only wonder whom he will declare allegiance to. Limpballs? Free-R?

3. It's called "an education"
Pretty sure having one is pretty non-partisan.

Of course with education comes knowledge (the killer of ignorance). I can understand his connection...

11. I would think
that if one were mad at liberals, and wanted to shoot some up, that a church might not be the best place to find them.

12. Unitarian Universalists
The most accepting church in the world. A non-denominational church.

It's almost like a collection of faiths (and non-beleivers).

I like to think of it as a club or open minded folks and less of a church.

14. UU is a very different kind of church
Freepers would hate it-they are accepting of the GLBT community, work against poverty, for women's rights etc. A lot of people I know are UUs and they are very liberal. It is not a church for Repukes-it is a very loving and accepting community.

15. "it is a very loving and accepting community."
Okay, that explains why a freeper would hate it. Didn't really know anything about UU, being an atheist and all.

16. It isn't really a church in the traditional sense
They have a lot of atheists as members...it isn't religion in the traditional sense. It is more about community..

Edited on Mon Jul-28-08 10:34 AM by Marr
I'm not watching it. Are they doing any pieces on right-wing radio and it's role in these sorts of domestic terrorist attacks, from this recent one to Timothy McVeigh?

20. Freep comments on the shooting
How very sad. I wonder if this is a "gun-free" church.:wtf:
As opposed to one where a motherfucking AK-47 is handed out with communion wafers??

I did not see this post before I posted the breaking news from CNN. Just shows that CNN is always a poor second to freerepublic!
And only slightly less right wing bullshit content, unfortunately.

concealed carry

This is what it’s all about folks. Any guy entering a church brandishing a shotgun should be dead meat before he can raise it and fire.

We hear talk about how terrible it would be to return to the wild west days. I doubt too many people were walking into churches in those days gunning down people for the sport of it.

Yeah, let's all wear our fucking GUNS to the HOUSE OF GOD, just in case we need to break a commandment and KILL SOME SON OF A BITCH!! Praise Jesus!! YEEEEEEHAAAAAAW!!

You don’t know many Unitarians do you? It’s a “progressive” church. They probably had The Vagina Monologues scheduled for the evening service. Prayers up for the injured.
Gee, thanks for your sensitivity, motherfucker. :eyes:

What place does "Annie" have in a worship service. I'd have probably shot up the place too.
The hate will come out. Tomorrow.........

This is why there was a loaded Glock concealed beneath my sport coat this morning, and every morning I am at church. Oh, and an extra clip in case they’re fat or I miss.
Who Would Jesus Shoot?
