I know, it's a weird question.

1. Yes. Absolutely.
The most common terrorist attacks in America are by the pro-life movement.

Most of the left today embraces non-violence as a core value. The right craves war, guns and anger.

17. Half of U.S. gun owners are Dems and indies.
He wasn't being sarcastic, I hope. Self-defense is a fundamental human right.

Lots of us own guns. We'll keep them, thanks. :)

18. Guns are not mandatory for self defense in 2008. The law says fine,
the mind says you must be kidding.

23. Mandatory, no. An option for those with clean records who are competent with them, yes.
A lot of us choose to own guns; I respect your choice not to own them, but my wife and I do choose to own them, we are highly competent with them, and I value the right to choose on the issue.

I've posted the following poll before, but I believe it is apropos here:

8. They are more rigid, less accepting, less forgiving, and tend to blame others for their misfortune.
To answer in a word: Yes.

And the farther rightward one moves on the political spectrum, one begins to encounter individuals who believe, quite literally, that God is on their side, and that liberals are Godless heathens -- homosexuals, fornicators, atheists, secular humanists, and Darwin-worshipers (my wife was once accused of that -- some woman got outraged at the Darwin fish on my wife's car, and started in on a rant about "worshiping that Darwin" and "he ain't the King," etc. -- just insane stuff).

When you reach that volatile mix of sheer ignorance blended with religious zeal, and throw in a heavy dose of nationalism -- that's a highly unstable and combustible formula.

Frankly, and very sadly, I'm not surprised about the Tennessee shooting.

10. it certainly seems that way, but I *have* found many RW'ers to be sniveling cowards
that talk -A LOT- but do little on the whole. Fundie nutbags seem to be the exception to this, their zealotry knows no limitation. They are the ones committing the violence. But your everyday run-of-the-mill rushbot is probably a blowhard pussy. The guy in TN was (I suspect) there because of some connection that church had with his ex-wife. He was -to me anyway- some unbalanced nutjob, not the first volley in some new political war.

11. Yes. But it is also satisfying when a repug bully gets their ass handed to them when they assume...
Liberal = Weeny.

Self Defense can be a very gratifying thing.

13. They are simple-minded emotional children
They strike out with violence because they don't have the education or natural intellect to think through their "irrationalism" and they don't have a rational vocabulary with which to express themselves

19. I'd say the insane are more inclined to shoot those they disagree with.
The insane are more likely to feel persecuted, combined with all the right-wing radio & TV telling the insane person that liberals are evil and the cause of all troubles.

20. especially when they've lost thier jobs and realize they don't have a
social net to fall back upon, because you are supposed to either make it or die trying. When you can't afford the new car, the nail jobs, the mcmansion, things can look pretty bleak. The only ones to blame are those damn brown, black, gay, liberal people that started the whole thing.
