Seven killed in Minnesota small plane crash
Very bad weather apparently.

An FAA spokeswoman says at least seven people are dead in a plane crash in Owatonna, Minn. this morning.

Elizabeth Isham Cory says the plane crashed near or at the city airport Thursday morning. Heavy weather was moving through Minnesota at the time.

Cory says authorities believe the plane was en route from Atlantic City, New Jersey, but cautioned that the information was preliminary. City and county authorities were not releasing information.

Owatonna is about 60 miles south of the Twin Cities.

2. My county was on the southern edge of that storm system and we had furious winds and much electrical
light-and-noise show. We've had a series of severe storms racing through for several days. They come on really fast and are gone just as fast. I can't imagine being a pilot caught in one of these systems.

Sad.

4. Yes. The storms come barrelling through from the west or northwest and the plane must have been
coming from east or southeast. So it was a head-on collision, closing at a rate we don't even want to think about.
