It is a hard time to be living in Pinellas County, Florida. CNN is
featuring the City Manager of "tiny???" Largo, who is having a sex change operation and was fired for it. C.W."Bill" Young, the septuagenarian asshat Congress critter for the white portions of the County, is getting justifiably pilloried for assisting the Walter Reed cover up.

I can only hope it is warm enough to go to the beach this weekend....

has a snow festival in July.

3. it's not too hard living here,
it's dealing with the freakazoids that have moved down over the past 10 yrs that think they own the gulf and all adjacent waters.
They think they own the beaches and everything else.

Largo is going thru growing pains. Bill Young doesn't even campaign anymore, somehow he just keeps going and going and going.

16. I am one of those feakazoids. Moved here a little over 10 years
ago when it was still a cheap place to live. There is a strip of beach on Clearwater Beach that I consider mine if I get there before you and the fish are biting.

Young told the Washington Post he quit going to Walter Reed in 2004 but used going there as an excuse not to debate his opponent in 2006. He is a lying piece of shit.

But, I could walk across the street, dive into the Anclote River, and swim 50 yards to Pinellas.

10. The Pink Streets!
My hubby grew up on those pink streets. My family lived out past Tierra Verde by the last toll to Ft. DeSoto Park. My folks ran a little bait house called Bayway Bait and Tackle there in the 60s. Those were the days! St. Pete has really changed, tho the last time I checked, the Outta Sight Shop was still around. Now I live in Hernando County. Went from palm trees and water to oaks and hills!

11. I worked on Tierra Verde
not long after the huge development push started. It is sad how commercialized FL has become. No wonder one of my favorite authors is Carl Hiaason. :)

It was good but not as good as "skinny dip". I Loved that one. I hear they are going to make a movie of that it. I hope it is better than Striptease was. :eyes:

I have read everything Carl has written except hoot and flush which my son has read. The very first book of his I read was "Skin Tight" and I was like, WOW! Where did this guy come from?

He Rocks! :)

19. Don't know the Largo City Manager, but I'd definitely take a person having a
sex change over the pukey Rick Baker, mayor of next-door St. Petersburg, who is a power-mad veteran of Jeb Bush's first gubernatorial campaign against Lawton Chiles.

I don't blame you for heading to the beach this weekend. Sounds pretty good.

20. I agree with all the sentiments,
The EC Wright Estate was nothing but mangroves on the way to Ft. Desoto when I got here. Now it's wall to wall condos, wait until the big wind from Africa hits there.

Rick Baker is a puke,

Been here 30 yrs, I've seen some changes for sure
